Patrick Van Caeckenbergh

• Patrick was born in 1960 and is a Belgium artist. He is know not only for his art but also for his philosophical view on life and his rather reclusive life style. His art very greatly from abstract sculptures to intricately realistic drawing. To define Patrick simply as a painter, illustrator or sculptor would be amiss for Patrick Van Caeckenbergh is a Tinkerer, pushing the limits of any of his given media.
• At the biennale I was quite impressed with Van Caeckenbergh's art work, a series of old trees drawn in a series of summer and winter. He, to me humorously put the type and band of pencil (Pentel 120 3DX-0.5mm A315) as if to say "yup this is a drawing and this is what I drew it with".
