Nikolay Bakharev
- Born 1946 in Soviet Russia, Bakharev was a controversial photographer who's style of art (the nude or exposed person) was deemed illegal by the Soviet Government. This made much of his work unsalable and at times got him in trouble with authorities, never the less he persisted in his efforts until the fall of the iron curtain.
- Bakharev was exhibited in the central Pavilion at Gardini. his photographs seemed strange to me, like some sort of documentary on the sexuality of oppressed individuals. Most of the photos had their setting somewhere in the woods as if to hide that sort of expression even from their on homes.
