Jakob Julian Ziółkowski

• Polish artist Jakob Ziolkowski was born in Poland, 1980, he currently lives and works in Cracow and Zamosc, Poland. His works are known for their surrealist style and his imaginative deformed creatures.
• I have to say Poland has some great artists represented at the Biennale this year. Truthfully I spent a good half an hour scouring through Ziolkowski's paintings, they are just so imaginative like a child's cartoon gone terribly wrong; a sickly deformed pregnant lady with stem jetting out of her deflated breasts, while giving birth to jewels, plants with eye balls and nostrils growing teeth. I don't know for sure if his paintings tell a story, are commentaries on social issue or simply a polish dude with a fantastic imagination but none the less it is fun to guess.
