Lin
Lin Xue
- Lin Xue is a 45-year-old artist who immerses himself in his unique style of 2-dimensional art created with ink and “quill.” To Lin, however, the quill is actually a bamboo reed making his complex, extremely detailed yet whimsical compositions very difficult to complete. Lin is at once very reclusive and perhaps more averse to the press or almost any casual contact with others than any other artist featured at the Biennale, and extremely open to his second life in the nature parks near his home in Hong Kong. This combination results in drawings the viewer never tires of.
- Lin Xue's work was to say well, fun to look at, I mean this only in the best of ways. Each ink drawing of his is like a small world full of intricate detail you can only see if you gave down upon it. then, of course you can't forget to stand back to see the forms and shape looking at you from open places on the paper. Beautiful, intricate and fun to look at, that about sums is up.
